Lettering tips!

I got into the world of lettering since a few weeks. I took a small course to learn the basic principles of it and now I’m on the part of practicing, practicing and practicing!
It’s always an adventure to learn something new, specially in design matter, but I hope to keep getting better in this area.
Here I share my first decent result. Hope you enjoy it! If you like it you can download it for your desktop (laptop and cellphone) at the end of the post.

The tools!

There are so many kind of tools you may use in lettering. The ones I’ve been using are these:
1. Jumbo permanent marker
2. Classic Sharpie
3. Fineliner marker pen 0.3
4. Mechanical pencil
5. Brush tip permanent marker
6. Eraser

First make your sketches in regular paper until you get one you like. Then use vellum paper to recreate it with better details.

It’s time to digitize!

You can use Adobe Illustrators Width Tool to digitize your composition.

Oh Darling lets be Adventurers!

I used Adobe Photoshop CS6 for putting my quote into a map and to use it as my desktop background. If you like it you can download it for your personal use.
